In the world of beauty, it would be fair to say that we are all always on the lookout for skincare products and treatments that can provide extra hydration, brightening, anti-aging, collagen production, overall wellness et al for our bodies and faces to prevent tired skin.
The longer you live and the harder you work, the more you put your skin through, and this can start to take a toll as early as your late 20s for some! That might sound scary, but the good news is that there are plenty of skincare routine products that can address these concerns and start to fight against things like fine lines, puffiness, uneven skin tone, dark circles breakouts, dull skin, dryness, sensitive skin, tired eyes and every other type of skin concern that you can think of!
No matter your skin type, your skin cells are inevitably going to experience some tell-tale signs of aging at some point. If you want to prevent this from happening for as long as possible, then the best thing to do is start a routine now that can be continued for decades to come.
The great thing about most ‘beauty boosters’, as we like to call them, is that they leave your skin looking glowing, youthful, vibrant, and, well, boosted! And all with very little downtime, or no downtime at all.
Let’s take a look at some of the best beauty boosters that we recommend on a regular basis. This list includes a mix of non-invasive cosmetic procedures and skincare/makeup product suggestions that can all be used as a skin booster.
Cosmetic Treatments
Winter is a good time to seek treatments to boost your complexion but summer is even better. In winter, there’s a constant battle against the elements, having to wear heavy clothing and eating comforting food. In summer, you feel fresher and lighter and want to show your skin off more. Increasingly popular are medical spa facials because they are quick, have good results, are affordable, and have minimal downtime.
Microneedling
Microneedling is a minimally invasive type of cosmetic procedure that is used to treat a variety of different skin concerns through the encouragement of collagen production.
The process involves a session of pin pricking that causes a very slight ‘injury’ to the skin. The skin then responds to this ‘injury’ by producing lots of new collagen-rich tissue to heal itself. This new skin that is created in the healing process is much more even in texture and tone than pre-treatment skin.
As we get older, the natural levels of collagen that we are able to produce start to decrease. Something like micro-needling is a good option for somebody who wants to boost what they have, along with stimulating the production of more collagen. Not only will your skin be more even in tone and texture, but it will also feel more firm to the touch which is a classic sign of youthful vibrance.
An enhanced micro-needling treatment is microinfusion micro-needling. In this, a nutrient-rich cocktail is delivered during the needling process. The cocktail will differ by clinic/spa but will be a mix of vitamins, antioxidants, and hyaluronic acid. The big benefit of this treatment is that results are usually immediately visible.
Laser Facial
Also known as laser resurfacing, this is a procedure in which a laser is used to remove the outer layers of dead skin to encourage the growth of new skin. The procedure can be used to reduce wrinkles, fade scars, and even out blotchy patches.
A treatment that lasts about 15 minutes can reduce hyper-pigmentation, smooth and even out skin texture, and make skin look good and glowing. The laser works on and under the skin’s surface to get rid of dirt, oil, and bacteria, reduce pore size and stimulate collagen production.
Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion can treat multiple skin issues including fine lines, wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation, melasma, dull complexion, acne and acne scars, blackheads, enlarged pores, uneven skin tone, and sun damage.
The treatment usually lasts an hour during which the skin is “blasted” with minute particles to remove the outer, dead layers. using special handheld devices.
There is minimal downtime and the treatment usually requires a good moisturizing routine to maintain the results.
Non-Cosmetic Treatments
Skincare is an all-year-round affair. While some medical spa treatments are best for summer, non-cosmetic treatments are daily and weekly.
SPF Moisturizer
It can’t be underestimated just how important it is to wear sunscreen every single day that you plan to be outside, even if the weather looks gray and overcast. The power of the sun’s UV rays is the biggest single threat to the health of your skin, and using a combination of SPF and moisturizer can provide you double protection.
If you are worried about losing out on a suntan because of the SPF content, then you can always find a moisturizer that contains a tint of color to make up for it.
Vitamin C Serum
Vitamin C serums are among the best products for working on skin pigmentation. When you start to use Vitamin C lotions and serums on a regular basis, you will find that they make your skin look brighter and more vibrant.
Vitamin C reduces the colored spots on the skin and also discourages further pigmentation by inhibiting the production of melanin by down-regulating the enzyme tyrosinase. We recommend our Zadeh MD C-fusion.
Hyaluronic Acid
Did you know that hyaluronic acid is 1000 times more hydrating than water? That sounds crazy, but it is absolutely true! If one of your main skin concerns is dry skin, then adding hyaluronic acid to your morning and evening routine can make a world of difference.
The acid itself won’t do anything in terms of firming or providing extra nutrition like Vitamin E, but what it will do is provide your skin the hydration to be a perfect canvas for further cosmetic products that will work to give you that boosted summer look that you want and deserve. Our Zadeh MD Rejuvenation Complex serum contains hyaluronic acid along with elements and growth factors that can plump the skin the equivalent of a syringe of dermal filler in just 2 weeks!
Concealer
There are always going to be certain pimples, breakouts, spots, etc. that turn up at the most unfortunate of times! There isn’t necessarily an instant fix for unwanted skin breakouts, so on these occasions, the best type of beauty booster for you is a great quality concealer.
If you can’t fix your skin on the spot, then the next best thing is to disguise the blemishes as well as you can, and this is exactly what concealer is for. The one thing to make sure that you get right is picking the shade that most closely resembles your own natural skin tone. Ideally, you want your concealer to be as invisible as possible while still providing the camouflage you want.
Eyeliner
Alongside all of the skincare products that can improve the look of your skin with minerals and chemicals, the correct use of makeup shouldn’t be underestimated.
You might think that using eyeliner on eyes with dark circles might be counterproductive, but strategically placed liner can actually serve to brighten up the white of your eyes and give you a younger, more vibrant look overall.
The great thing about eyeliner is that you really can transform the look of your face by experimenting with different styles. From wing tips to the smokey eye to any other style that might be in vogue at any given moment, you should never take for granted the amazing effects that a combination of good eyeliner and mascara can have, especially when you have mastered the above-mentioned concealer on your under eyes as well!
Cleanser
The more makeup products you choose to add to your routine, the more important cleanser becomes as the first step in the regime. Cleanser is the product that helps to make a completely fresh canvas for your skincare products and makeup in the morning and at night.
If you have sensitive skin, our Zadeh MD Cleanse, which is a gentle cleanser that features all natural ingredients and fruit extract can be very effective. It will take off makeup and remove debris without stripping any moisture from your skin.
If you don’t use cleansers but do use skincare products and makeup on a regular basis, then these products are going to build up on your skin and clog your pores, which will inevitably lead to issues like breakouts.
Eye Cream
If dark circles are one of your main skin concerns, then the best focused and concentrated treatment for this is a good quality eye cream. These are mostly designed to be used overnight so you can apply a thicker layer that will sit on your skin and penetrate as you sleep.
Eye creams tend to be more mineral and nutrient-dense and can have an incredible effect on the thinnest, most sensitive skin on your face, which is the delicate under-eye skin that can often look a different color to the rest (especially when you are tired or stressed). Our Zadeh MD Eye Repair is a fan favorite to rejuvenate tired eyes!
Products Containing Retinol
Retinol is a sensational thing for skincare. A retinoid that is a derivative of Vitamin A, works to reduce fine lines and wrinkles by increasing collagen production. Retinol can also stimulate the production of new blood vessels in your skin which can improve skin tone. Additional benefits also include softening rough patches of skin and working to fade age spots that you might develop over time. Our Zadeh MD RA Therapy is an effective, yet gentle Retinol-based product.
The Takeaway
For these products to boost your skin in the way you crave, you must choose the right ones for your skin type. If it’s a cosmetic treatment, only work with a professional dermatologist, cosmetic surgeon, or qualified aesthetician who will advise if the treatment is right for you. If its products, when irritation occurs, discontinue use immediately.
